Jakarta, April 30, 2026 – The Konsorsium Bioteknologi Indonesia (KBI) is pleased to announce its continued collaboration with the Society for Biotechnology, Japan (SBJ) for the upcoming 78th SBJ Annual Meeting. This initiative is a direct implementation of the long-standing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organizations, aimed at fostering international scientific exchange and providing global platforms for Indonesian biotechnology professionals.
For several years, KBI and SBJ have maintained a strategic partnership to support mutual scientific activities. SBJ is a premier international organization dedicated to the advancement of biotechnology, playing a pivotal role in bridging academic research with industrial application. Through this MoU, KBI institutional members gain exclusive access to one of the most prestigious biotechnology forums in the Asia-Pacific region.
The 78th SBJ Annual Meeting will be held from September 15 to September 17, 2026, at the Sapporo Campus of Hokkaido University, Japan. This year’s conference will focus exclusively on oral presentations, allowing for rigorous academic discussion and the dissemination of high-impact research. Furthermore, student participants are encouraged to apply for the “Student Excellent Presentation Award,” which honors outstanding contributions from the next generation of scientists.
Exclusive Member Benefits and Registration
As a benefit of the KBI-SBJ partnership, all KBI institutional members—including universities, research centers, and corporate entities—are eligible for a special registration rate equivalent to the SBJ member’s fee.
