DEPOK, April 9, 2026 – The Indonesian Biotechnology Consortium (KBI) held its 2026 Halal Bihalal gathering to strengthen ties and camaraderie among its board members and representatives. The event took place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Interdisciplinary Engineering (IDE) Building, 7th Floor, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), Depok. This gathering followed the Engineering Biology Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held at the same venue earlier that day.

Attended by KBI Chairman Dr. Wahyu Purbowasito, alongside the advisory board and member representatives, the event served as a vital moment to reinforce the bonds within Indonesia’s biotechnology community. The agenda featured a communal lunch and a warm networking session among the participants.
A key highlight of the afternoon was a spiritual reflection (tausiyah) delivered by Mr. Khomaini Hasan, Ph.D.. During his address, he emphasized the importance of maintaining harmony and fostering a spirit of collaboration across the biotechnology ecosystem. These values are expected to guide KBI as it continues to drive biological innovation forward.
KBI expresses its deepest gratitude to the host, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Misri Gozan, M.Tech., for his gracious hospitality at Universitas Indonesia.
